The Piper Malibu Mirage with registration N9190X took off from Maastricht Aachen Airport for an IFR flight to Salzburg (Austria). On board N9190X were two pilots and two passengers. Prior to take-off, both pilots agreed on their roles, whereby one pilot would fly the aircraft and the other would be responsible for radio communication and flight navigation.
