Passenger information flight MH17

Following the accident to flight MH17, the Dutch Safety Board initiated a number of investigations in July 2014.
In addition to the investigation into the cause of the accident, the Safety Board is also investigating the decision processes surrounding flight routes and into the passenger information.
In the investigation into the passenger information, the Dutch Safety Board is investigating the availability of the passenger name list after the accident and the process of tracing and verifying the Dutch victims’ next of kin.
Recommendations

keeping records on nationality;

improving the process of collecting, distributing and verifying passenger information and improving the provision of information to victims’ relatives, and

simplifying the Dutch crisis organisation.
