Resolution advisory due to proximity other traffic, Airbus A320, 24 August 2012

During the approach of Eindhoven Airport air traffic control cleared the flight to descend to an altitude of 2000 feet. The flight crew had been informed already about the presence of VFR traffic. In the cockpit a TCAS resolution advisory to descend and subsequently to increase the rate of descend was generated. The crew followed the advisories. The VFR traffic crossed above on the right side of the Airbus A320 at an estimated distance of approximately 3 NM and a vertical distance of 500 feet. The flight was continued without particulars.
