The Dutch Safety Board is starting a shortened investigation into the accident on the Prins Bernhard bridge in Zaandam, where an elderly couple suffered severe injuries in the evening of 28 November 2018. The bridge was opened while the couple was walking on it.

The Safety Board is investigating the cause of the accident and how remotely controlled bridges are operated. In the investigation, the outcome of the report about the accident on the Den Uyl bridge (2015) will be taken into account.
