No, that is not possible and also not necessary. The Dutch Safety Board’s investigations explicitly do not seek to apportion blame or liability. Statements made in the context of a Safety Board investigation, information gathered by the Safety Board, results of technical examination and analyses, and documents produced (including the published report) cannot be used as evidence in criminal, disciplinary or civil proceedings, nor can they be accessed or requested by third parties.
Your knowledge and experience may be of assistance to us in our work. Please write us a letter explaining your expertise. We will then contact you accordingly. You can send your letter to: Dutch Safety Board, PO Box 95404, 2509 CK The Hague. Please be sure to specify the subject.
The Dutch Safety Board’s task is to investigate incidents and issue recommendations to help improve safety. You can present your idea or invention to a range of organisations which are better equipped to assist in this regard, such as various ministries, universities and the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO).
Unfortunately we cannot help you. Questions of blame and liability fall outside our legal jurisdiction. We recommend that you contact a damage expert or the Netherlands Victim Support Services (Slachtofferhulp Nederland).
Unfortunately we cannot be of assistance to you. If you have a complaint about or conflict with a government authority, please visit the website of the National Ombudsman. There you will find clear criteria for whether or not the National Ombudsman may be involved. If you have a complaint about a company, please contact the company itself. Most companies have a designated official to handle such matters. You can also submit your complaint to the relevant inspectorate.
For reports issued prior to 1999, please contact the Dutch National Archives or the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment.
If you become aware of an unsafe situation or negligence at your workplace, you can contact the Dutch Whistleblowers Authority. They provide advice and support to (potential) whistleblowers within the government and the business sector regarding the steps that can be taken. Your knowledge and experience may also be of assistance to us in our work. If your knowledge and experience are relevant to any of the Dutch Safety Board’s ongoing investigations, please write us a letter explaining your expertise. We will then contact you accordingly. You can send your letter to: Dutch Safety Board, PO Box 95404, 2509 CK The Hague, The Netherlands. Please be sure to specify the subject.
Unfortunately the Dutch Safety Board cannot respond to or assist with problems and complaints raised by individuals. This does not fall under the Safety Board’s tasks and responsibilities. Nevertheless, your knowledge and experience may be of assistance to us in our work. We ask that you write us a letter explaining your experiences. We will then contact you accordingly.
