Review

The Safety Board sends its draft report to the parties involved for a verification of factual inaccuracies and/or points to be clarified. In the review procedure, the parties have a number of weeks* to respond and submit comments. The Safety Board reviews each comment and decides whether or not it will be incorporated into the final report. Parties have a legal obligation to maintain confidentiality with regard to the draft report that they receive.

Where relevant, the Safety Board incorporates corrections of factual inaccuracies, additional details and editorial comments in the final report. Comments not adopted by the Safety Board are included in the report’s review table, with an explanatory note added.

*The standard response period for review parties is four weeks. Different periods apply for foreign parties. Foreign aviation parties are subject to a response period of 60 days, while foreign shipping parties must respond within five weeks.
