Fatality during mooring operation in lock, 9 september 2012

On Sunday, 9 September 2012, a Filipino seaman from the Dutch motor vessel Flinter Aland got fatally injured during a mooring operation in a lock in Terneuzen. During the mooring manoeuvre, a mooring line broke and snapped back at hijg speed, thereby hitting the seaman. The seaman died on site as a result of his injuries.
