Defense
The sector Defense carries out investigations into incidents involving any arm of the armed forces. This includes incidents in the military aviation, shipping, road transport and underground infrastructure sectors.
The Board does not investigate actions taken by the armed forces during armed conflicts or during operations to maintain the international rule of law (peace missions). However, this does not alter the fact that incidents occurring during armed conflict or peace missions that do not appear to have been caused by an act of war can still be investigated.
