At the current time, the Dutch Safety Board is active in the sectors aviation, inland shipping, rail transport, road transport, defence, healthcare (human and animal welfare), pipelines, industry and networks, construction and services, water, and crisis management and aid provision. Each investigator works for a set sector but will also carry out investigations for other sectors where necessary and/or desirable.
The staff department IPO (substantive process support) handles all content-facilitating processes, such as the following of the recommendations, the assessment of draft recommendations on the basis of previously made recommendations, editorial work and the quality of the reports, as well as legal matters and communication.
We also have the staff department APO (general process support), which carries out all general facilitating processes, such as day-to-day management processes. This department also provides the (administrative and secretarial) support for investigatory projects.
