The crew of an Airbus A319, awaiting a take-off clearance, mistakenly believed they had received their take-off clearance. Because their read back was missed by ATC they started rolling for take-off on runway 24 whilst a Boeing 747 was going to cross the runway. Realising the Boeing 747 was crossing and being instructed by ATC to stop, the crew aborted take-off.
